There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
Grandparents' Day
What a wonderful day we had celebrating our amazing grandparents!
Today our classrooms and playgrounds were filled with smiles, laughter, and plenty of joy as we welcomed our special visitors for Grandparents' Day.
Students were so proud to share their work, show their grandparents around the school, and enjoy a delicious sausage sizzle together.
A huge thank you to all the grandparents and family members who came along to make the day so special — your warmth and wisdom mean the world to our Mullaway community.
Book Week
Mullaway Primary School brought the theme of 2025’s Book Week, 'Book an Adventure, ' to life with a vibrant parade that showcased the creativity and enthusiasm of our students and staff. The event was a spectacular success, with the vast majority of participants dressed as their favourite book characters. Each student had the opportunity to announce their character and the book they came from before confidently walking down the catwalk, delighting the audience. The parade featured an impressive range of costumes, from timeless classics like Harry Potter, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, The Cat in the Hat, and Peter Pan, to contemporary superheroes and sporting stars. Our Book Week Parade continues to thrive thanks to the fantastic support of our families, who contributed by finding or making costumes and cheering on our students. A special thank you goes to Mr Wiggins, our wonderful MC, who kept the crowd entertained and the parade flowing smoothly, Ms. Broekman, the event coordinator, and our dedicated librarian, Miss Hopper, for her efforts in promoting the event in the lead-up. Mullaway Primary School’s Book Week Parade truly was an adventure to remember!
Mullaway School Musical
Welcome, dear friends, to a tale full of cheer,
Where magic and mystery swirl through the air!
Mr Deagan is missing—he’s vanished from view!
He climbed up the tree... now what should we do?
So Jesse and Fran and Rick take the lead,
To search through the branches with courage and speed.
From jungles with monkeys to minions that dance,
To movie-land madness and musicals in France!
They blast into space and meet Flintstones with flair,
And stumble through soundtracks and magic-filled air.
Each land is a puzzle, a clue to the quest,
To find Mr Deagan and bring back the rest!
So join us for laughter, for magic, for cheer—
The Magic Mullaway Tree holds surprises this year!
Healthy Harold
Healthy Harold We’re excited that Healthy Harold, the ever-lovable giraffe, is currently visiting Mullaway with the Life Education van! All classes from Kindergarten to Year 4 are getting the opportunity to step into the van and enjoy an interactive lesson delivered by a specialist Life Ed educator. Kindergarten are attending My Body Matters, learning about hygiene, healthy foods, the benefits of getting the right amount of physical activity and sleep. Stage 1 are attending Ready, Steady Go!, learning how to prepare physically and mentally for important events in their lives. Key messages include eating a balanced meal, drinking water to stay hydrated, and ways to deal with nerves during a challenging situation. Stage 2 are attending Cyber Wise, learning how to react to risks and report problems online. The students have been excited by this experience—from dancing with Harold, learning through stories and interactive activities, to exiting the van with big smiles and renewed enthusiasm for healthy, safe living!
NSW PSSA Boys Touch Football
NSW PSSA Boys Touch Football Finals Last Friday, the Mullaway Boys' Touch Football Team proudly represented our school in the semi-finals of the North Coast Knockout Competition, facing off against Tacking Point Primary School. Drawing on all their hard work and training, the boys played a determined and skilful game, coming away with a thrilling 7–6 victory and earning a well-deserved place in the final later that day. In the final, the team came up against a very strong side from Centaur Primary School. Despite giving it their all and showing great spirit, they were outplayed on the day. Reaching the final stage of this highly competitive tournament is an outstanding achievement and a true reflection of the boys' dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship. A big thank you to Miss Nudd for her time, guidance, and commitment in preparing the team — your efforts were key to their success. Congratulations to the team on a fantastic effort — you’ve done Mullaway proud!
"We love our school for its supportive community and commitment to every student’s success. Our child feels safe and inspired every day.”— a parent of Mullaway Public School
