03 Feb 2016
A warm 2016 welcome to all our students, staff, parents and community members. We have many new faces, both students and staff, and we wish them all a smooth, enjoyable transition into the Mullaway PS environment.
Our staff has some significant changes for 2016. Firstly, we wish Mr Deagan well with his new temporary position as Principal Leader for 'Local Schools, Local Decisions'. As a result, I am very pleased and motivated to have another opportunity to lead the school team, especially as a foundation teacher of Mullaway Primary School. Also, we welcome Ms Tracey Mallett and Miss Lara Canale as permanent staff members of our teaching staff as well as Mrs Cass Sutherland and Mrs Tiffany James in a temporary capacity.
Our overall student numbers have increased to over 200 which has enabled us to form 9 classes across the school. This growth and the inequity between Grade groups has encouraged us to adopt a Stage structure from Year 1-6. This aligns itself with curriculum delivery and assessment and also allows us to reduce class sizes. The classes are as follows:
Kindergarten - Grevillea - Miss Burgess
Kindergarten - Lorikeet - Mrs Gentle
Stage 1 - Glossy - Miss Canale
Stage 1 - Casuarina - Mr Grant
Stage 1 - Wonga - Mrs Byrne
Stage 2 - Kites - Mrs Sutherland
Stage 2 - Pandanus - Miss Hills
Stage 3 - Bluegum - Ms Mallett
Stage 3 - Kookaburra - Mr Cheers
In addition to this we have specialist teaching sessions as follows:
Library - Mrs Gray
Reading Recovery & Learning Support - Miss Gay
Release from Face to Face(RFF) - Mrs James
Our front office team will again be led by our School Administration Manager, Mrs Leanne Bartlett, accompanied by Mrs Tania Swilks and Mrs Sandy Murphy our School Administration Officers. We also have 4 School Learning Support Officers - Mr Josh Corbett, Mrs Katrina Hill, Mrs Kathy Stevens and Mr Aaron Armstrong.
The team is very excited and committed to make 2016 a fun, motivating year of learning. If you have any questions or issues regarding your child's learning please don't hesitate to call the school office and schedule an appointment with the relevant staff member.
Regards,
David King
