Our annual school swimming carnival was held on Friday, February 7th at Woolgoolga swimming pool. It was a wonderful day with good weather and great support from our parent community.
Our students excelled both as participants and spectators. A number of students participated in all eligible events regardless of their ability. As is the tradition, our students supported their sporting houses proudly wearing the purple, blue, red or orange. Even our teachers were proudly wearing their house colours, with Mr. Cheers competing with Mrs. Gentle for the 'most fluorescent teacher' award.
There were some outstanding performances and no doubt our students will be competitive at the Coffs Harbour District Swimming Carnival on Monday, February 24th at the Coffs Harbour Memorial Pool.
The highlight of the swimming carnival is the 6 x 25m junior and senior relay and this year Cargal won both events.
Unlike many schools, our sporting carnivals at Mullaway are K-6 events and our 5-7 year olds participated in novelty events throughout the day.
The swimming carnival relies heavily on parent support for supervising our 5-7 year olds as well as assisting with timekeeping, as always we appreciate our high level of parent and community support.
Thank you to Miss. Hills, the swimming carnival coordinator, who did a fantastic job in organising her first swimming carnival!
Our swimming presentation will be held on Friday, February 21st in the school hall from 9:30am.
