On Wednesday, June 25th Mullaway held their annual athon and this year we returned to the community favourite; the Wheels-athon.
There was a diverse range of wheels; scooters, roller blades, bikes, prams and even a wheelchair. Areas of the school were sectioned for different types of wheels, the most popular being the traditional bike circuit on our bottom oval.
This year we had the support of our local bike shop owner and Mullaway parent; Scott Bocking of Woodsey's Wheels, who had a safety check stall on our bike course.
After the students completed the Wheels-athon, fresh fruit was provided to promote healthy eating and recharge the weary legs.
The Wheels-athon is a joint P&C and school initiative to raise funds for our anticipated shade cloth structure. In total over $3900.00 was raised in sponsorship.
Thank you to all our parents and community members who supported the Wheels-athon through sponsorship, transporting their children's set of wheels to school or attending the Wheels-athon afternoon. We received wonderful support!
Thank you to Mr. Cheers who did a fabulous job in coordinating and setting up circuits for the Wheels-athon afternoon and to Mrs. Gray who coordinated the sponsorship.
Thank you again to Scott Bocking of Woodsey's Wheels and as a special offer Scott will offer a 10% discount to anyone who mentions the Mullaway Wheels-athon when purchasing from his shop.
